The Seeker Meditation
Written By Kurt Shoopman
Close your eyes, and become aware of your breathing.
Breath in ...2...3...4...
Hold ...2...3...4....
Exhale ...2...3...4....
Hold ...2...3...4....
REPEAT THROUGHOUT
Relax your body, starting with your toes, the balls of your feet, the arches of your feet, your heels, the tops of your feet, your ankles. All are becoming relaxed. Relax your calves, your knees, your thighs, your hips. Your legs are relaxed. Now relax your lower abdomen, the small of your back, your upper abdomen, your chest. Relax your shoulders, relax your shoulder blades paying special attention in between them. Your torso is relaxed. Now relax your arms, your biceps, your elbows, your forearms, your wrists, the tops of your hands, your palms, your knuckles, and your fingers. Your arms are completely relaxed. I want you to relax the small of your neck, your throat, your jaw, your ears, your lips, your nose. All are becoming relaxed. Relax your eyelids, your brow, and your scalp. Your entire body is relaxed.
Imagine a bright white light around you, this light is warm and loving. You are safe. Sit within this light for a few moments allowing its peace to wash over you.
Imagine you are in a woods, it is night and the air is cool and crisp. You are surrounded by tall trees, as you look up to the sky, you see a shining crescent moon, it's light is comforting to you. You look around you, as a soft breeze begins to blow. In the wind you can hear whispers, their voices are quiet and familiar. The wind picks up and you can feel the breeze pulling, tugging you in a direction. You hear them whisper to you "Follow Us..We Know the Way...".
As you walk through the woods you hear the cry of an owl in the distance. Up ahead there is a clearing, in that clearing you can see the faint glow of golden light...... As you step into the clearing you are surrounded by a brilliant golden light, it is warm. You feel its warmth on your body, your face, and your arms. As the light begins to fade, you find yourself standing in large meadow surrounded by trees. The Sun is shining brightly in a blue sky overhead. You can smell the scent of flowers and grasses on the light, warm breeze. Across the meadow is a large pond, its waters are sparkling and clear. Looking into the pond you begin to see something within its waters. Look closer. What do you see? Take a few moments to watch what is beneath the waters. You will remember what you have seen.
The water slowly grows still once more, and the pond becomes silent and unmoving. The breeze begins to blow, and you can hear them whisper to you again. They say to you "Now you know the way to this sacred place, and you will always be welcome here." As their whispers fade away, you are surrounded by a bright white light.
Sit within this light for a few moments, becoming aware of your breath once more.
I want you to move you awareness into your toes, awaken them by allowing yourself to feel their form. Feel the balls of your feet, the arches of your feet, your heels, and the tops of your feet. Your feet have form and feeling. Feel your ankles, your calves, your knees, your thighs, your hips. Your legs have form and feeling. Move your awareness into your lower abdomen, the small of your back, your upper abdomen, your sides, your shoulders, and your shoulder blades. Your Torso has form and feeling. Move into your arms. Feel your biceps, your elbows, your forearms, your wrists, the tops of your hands, your palms, your knuckles, and your fingers. Your arms are awakened. Move your awareness into your neck. Feel your neck, your throat, your jaw, your ears, your tongue, your lips, your nose, your eyes, your brow, and your scalp.. Your entire body has feeling and form. Feel the ground beneath you, you are completely awakened.
Keeping your eyes closed.
Become aware of any sound around you, listen to the World, what do you hear?
Become aware of what you smell, what scents are in the air?
Become aware of the temperature and movement of air in your area. What do you feel?
Open your eyes.
Choose an object or feature in your immediate vicinity. Focus upon this object, detailing its existence with your eyes. Do not think about anything else for a few moments. Allow yourself to be completely within the now, this moment. Once you feel completely alert, aware, and fully present, journal what you have seen in your meditation.
